How does this sound for a letter that says that I don't want to quit after all?

I put in my two weeks notice at the nursing home I work at not to long ago and my last day is supposed to be January 4, 2008. But I have changed my mind and don't want to quit, but want to just work on an as needed basis. I got a job at a different nursing home and honestly don't know if I'm going to like it or not.

Dear [recipient];

I have been thinking and have decided that instead of outright quitting, I would like to be casual instead. Seeing how I have come to know my coworkers and the residents to varying degrees over the two years I have been here, I think it would be nice to stay.

I can still work part-time up until January 4th, 2008 and then would like to be casual status and only pick up the 2 shifts per month as stated in the facility policy. I may be willing to pick up more as time permits.

If, for whatever reason, I cannot do this, or you have any questions, please call me.

Sincerely

[my name goes here]

I plan on giving this to the executive director, the director of nursing, and the scheduler. And judging from what some of my current coworkers said about this other nursing home (the ones that have worked there in the past), have pretty much said they didn't like it there. I think I may have made a mistake by quitting my present job and taking the other one. I didn't realize I was making a mistake when I quit and took the other job, otherwise I wouldn't have done that.

Is tough time for anybody to explain why you did what you did and then have to say, sorry I didn't mean that. Here is my advice: Be honest to yourself and to your boss; First of all, think of the main reason why did you quit your current job and ask yourself if it is worth the effort to ask your boss to take you back, but don't be surprised if your boss don't take your request serious if you won't be honest to him or yourself by speaking out what bothers you about your present job in the first place. Best Job is that where you are not working for the money, but for the passion on doing what you like the most.
Hope this helps you. Good Luck.

Keep it simpler. Your letter shows your immaturity. Hey I quit because I think the grass is greener at your competitor, but lawn isn't that dead. Instead, emphasize that you wish to keep the bridges unburned....

Dear [recipient];

I again wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed working at __________ these past 2 years. Both the staff and residents have become my friends and I will miss them. I wish I could continue to work full time, but this just isn't possible.

If you can use me part time, no more than 2 shifts a month, please keep my application on file. I would be able to work (insert shifts you can clearly do on short notice). I can be reached at the address and phone number below.

Sincerely,
