Your worst job interview?

well have you had any bad ones or funny ones

The worst and yet funniest for me was some years ago.

I went for an important interview.. went into the room, several guys sat behind a table, 6 in all !!!

They talked for an hour, I gave 'gibberish' but thought, hey, they obviously think, 'I'm ok' and felt confident...

Got back to my old job.. and my colleague took one look at me and her mouth dropped open..she asked had I been to the interview.. "yes".. she said "looking like that" !!!!

I thought I looked really cool, I'd even bought a new dress, but had forgot to put an undergarment on.

When she marched me into a room with a full length mirror, I could see why !!! you could see EVERYTHING..I might as well have been standing in that interview room with just my bra and knicks on and nothing else... no wonder they took their time in the interview..

I still didn't get the job, Oh well, didn't really want it anyway.

i hate group interviews cause im not great at talking in front of complete strangers with all eyes on me i usually stumble/stutter and go bright red in those situations

I was working as a temp for a warehouse 3yrs ago & the manager (a b***h from hell) asked me what i could bring to the company?
I replied that i had at least lasted longer than the other temps (because i didnt care if i got the job), & she only gave me the job. lol

worst .. one that took a day.. all sorts of boring tests...

funniest.. one for a really rubbish company miles away, I was tested on unix / dos etc.. breezed that.. but I made a comment , not realising the bloke was the boss of the company..

easiest one, was a 1 day trial at computer service department.. breezed it again.. ended up helping the owner with questions on TV about pc questions (it was a mac seller).. the last week before I left I gave him really rubbish answers to make him look stupid, the week I handed in my notice, so I didn't care.

Funny one I was interviewing a group interview my second for a software company. The owner asked what I knew about payroll and I answered everything so he asked if I knew want a certified payroll was. I couldn't think of the answer, it was so embarrassing. I had done one before just didn't know what it was called. I actually did pretty much know everything about payroll, I had worked public accounting 17 years then in another software company had done payroll testing, support and development so had dealt with every state's payroll taxes. I was also a CPA at the time. It is just hard to flat out say you know everything then have them find the one thing you don't know. I did get the job and did become the main support for payroll in the software.

Worst ever:

I arrived at the big building where the interview was, got to the door and pushed the buzzer and waited.

No reply. Pushed it again. And waited.

And waited.

Then an employee comes along and says it's not the proper buzzer - the real one is 20 feet away and around a corner. So, I press the new buzzer and explain to the person that answers that I'm there for an interview. They say the door is now unlocked and I should go in.

So, back around the corner I go to the door, which is indeed unlocked, so in I go.

I find myself in a small room with a chair and another door. The interior door is locked - and this time there's no buzzer at all.

Perplexed, I attempt to go back outside to use the exterior buzzer again. But now the exterior door is locked as well and I am trapped in this tiny room!

I'm now late for the interview and a further 20 minutes went by before someone passing through rescued me.

I didn't get the job.

During my last interview, the department manager asked if I had considered Oregon State's MBA program. Things went badly when I replied "sure, I've thought about it, but will you be willing to foot the bill?"

the lady was really hot n i ended up making a move on her n ...long story short... lmao I got the job but she was shocked . n i got the girl B)

University library: Woman was looking at me with this "who in the hell is this guy?" look on her face. Wasn't any surprise that I didn't get that job. My very firstjob interview.

Internship at an investments place: I asked a stupid question and the woman laughed at me.

Culver's: Desperate for work I applied to be a shift manager at Culvers. The manager didn't read my resume beforehand and then during the interview wondered why I was there.

I had a great interview at my other internship place. Got the job and the cold hearted ***** fired me a month later.

Having a job recruiter alter my resume and send me in for an interview that I was obviously not qualified for. After I got there, I found out the title of the job and died. I quickly took out the copy of my resume that I'd taken with me and asked the guy if he'd seen it and if not, would he still be interested in talking to me. The answer was clearly no.

Worst interview was one where the interviewer, who was the head of the company, told me early on that they were not going to be able to hire me, but still wanted to 'chat.' I guess he felt badly about me taking the time to come in for no reason. I really really did not want to stay there at that point, but since I did'nt' want to ruin any possible future opportuntiies, couldn't find a way to gracefully leave until he had run out of small talk about 45 minutes later.
