Marketing Degree...?

I am currently a Business Administration student majoring in Marketing Management, with an emphasis in Advertising and Promotions. However, I think I am more interested in the entertainment aspect. There is an option for me to switch from Advertising/Promotions to Entertainment Marketing. I originally chose Ad/Promo because it seemed more practical for the future and it seems like there would be more opportunities in that field. Should I remain with this, or just go for what I am MORE interested in (Entertainment Mkting)? Is it difficult to get a job in the entertainment industry for marketing?

FYI - I live in Los Angeles County. The TV studios are not too far away from where I live. (ABC, NBC, FOX, etc)...

All input and advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to figure it out! Thanks a bunch.

I think you should stay as Marketing Management with the emphasis in Advertising & Promotions and intern at one of the TV studios. That will give you best of both worlds because #1, you will be expanding your knowledge in both fields and #2 finding out which you like better. If you choose one over the other now, you will never know...With your concentration being in Marketing Ads & promo's you should be able to get the internship. Even if you don't change your major, you could end up getting a job there after you graduate being that you would have learned the ropes. My Marketing VP graduated school as an engineer~ and my boss who is a Snr Marketing Mgr graduated with a chemical engineering degree...so...my point is that you dont have to have that exact major to get in~
