Is economics boring subject?

When I read economics and management magazines, it is so boring. I want this major only because it is best major to get high salary job. I actualy want to learn psychology and help people who have problem with stress. What should I do? Do u guys think economics is boring?

Economics is fascinating. Like anything else, many people can't write worth a darn. If you read people like Thomas Sowell, you won't be bored.

As to psychology--forget about it. You're going to need a minimum of a Masters and more likely a doctorate to really do anything with it and wanting to help the "stressed" is not going to pay that well.

If you don't enjoy econ, don't go into the field. There ARE other well-paying jobs out there. Sit down with a career counselor--probably free if at school--and get some testing, including aptitude testing, to see what your options are. If you're enslaved at a job, it's the hardest money you'll ever make.

I find economics very interesting.

I chose to pursue an engineering degree instead, because I wanted to have higher pay than an economist (on average).

You're definitely in a tough spot: Money or happiness.

Maybe you can take some job-aptitude tests online to get some other career ideas that might better fill both of your desires.

Economics is important to understand because it will take economic development to help the third-world countries.
