Would someone with a business minor be less likely to get hired then someone with a Business major?

If something got a Degree in something like Anthropology or History, with a minor in Business, would that have an effect on their likelihood is getting hire for a Business related job, when competing with people with degrees in Buniess?

Assuming the job has nothing to do with the non-Business thing the person majored in, of course...

Absolutely. The hiring company will want a background that is most relevant to the position they are hiring for. It will be hard for you to convince a recruiter that you are better qualified than someone with a major, or that you have ambitions of a long-term career in the field of your minor. The minor is of little career benefit unless it supplements the major in some way. (e.g. if you were wanting to manage an anthropology business - in your example)

A business major makes a strong statement. That is what you would put on your resume. This type of degree is very versatile and can get you a variety of jobs as opposed to something more specific ie. philosophy. I would recommend you get a degree in business, you won't regret it if down the road you make a huge career change. It can be applied to any industry from Biotechnology to telecommunications etc.
