Quitting a job after 3 days?

I have only been on the job 3 days and I hate it. I don't want to waste my time with the traning because I know it's not working out for me and I can't do that to myself anymore....I actually cry everyday after work because I am that miserable.

Anyway...how do I explain this in an e-mail to my employer that I quit. Any advice would be helpful.

OK I didn't ask IF I should quit or not...I have already made up my mind. I just asked how to explain this to an employer in an E-MAIL. I have no phone number so that's the only way I can do it.....Its not like i'm gonna drive all the way there just to tell him I quit. And it's not like it's a big deal to him because it's a retail position. Ans also, why would I put a job I had for 3 days on a resume?

If you can call in and speak to your boss that would be better. But, if you want to write an email it should go something like this:

Dear Sir (bosses name)
After much personal debate I have decided that this position is not the right fit for me.
Therefore I find it necessary to hand in my resignation as of (date) and thank you for the opportunity to work for (company name).
I wish you and (team) the best of luck in the future.
Sincerely,
(Your Name).

Be Nice, Polite and Honest and they should let you go with respect.

WHY are you giving up so quickly? NO job is a cakewalk after only THREE days. After only three days, just don't go in anymore. Next time, do a little more research on exactly what the job will be like before you apply.

I had my first job this summer. I hated it so much, you have no idea! Horibble coworkers, horrible hours, horrible job! I SERIOUSLY wanted to give up so many times. I'm glad I didn't! I even ended up liking it. It was a 3 months job (summer job) And I
didn't give up and I'm proud. You shouldn't give up yet, give it time!

But if you really have to quit, you should do it in person.

~ If you already made up your choice the you shouldve just asked us how to quit a job by email instead of the long question you asked.. and just tell him you quit, don't have to tell him your whole life..

Talk to your employer in person or on the phone and explain your dissatisfaction. S/he will tell you if there's anything that can be done, or at least be able to address your concerns.

NEVER e-mail something like that!!! It's extremely unprofessional and you don't want it reflected if a future potential employer calls this one for a reference.

No guts? Tell them in person, my friend!

I think you should at least finish the first week, but better to try a month. Then go talk "In Person" if you can with your supervisor and explain why you wish to leave. Is there anywhere else they can place you? It will look very bad on your resume to be there only 3 days. It shows that you have no staying power. The job may be the pits but try staying longer to see what the position is really like.

not sure you can even do this , but maybe you can quit after only 3 days i'm not sure.

but would tell them in person , not the email option . that will make you look bad that you didn't even show up in person to tell the business this.

and how can the job be that bad , i'm just wonderign where you workign or the hours and type of co-workers .

Don't give up yet but you need to explain your situation to your boss to see what their reaction/response is. This will help you decide on how to proceed. If you don't receive positive feedback then politely explain that the position is not what you expected and are going to pursue other avenues of employment.

Just tell them thanks for an opportunity to be employed with them, but it's not the type of work you are looking for.

I would say for you to continue with the training. At least it's an income while searching for a better job.

You should call or visit your employer, not resign via email. Quitting after only three days is enough of a negative impression (even if it's the right thing for you personally). How you handle the event can do a lot to improve this manager's final opinion of you. You'd be amazed at how small the business world can be; it's entirely possible you may cross paths with this individual again in the future. You want him/her to remember you in a positive light.

Oh, and you would list this job on a resume because it's true and accurate. I would think much less of a job candidate who lied than I would one who admitted he or she had made a bad decision in accepting a job they weren't cut out for.

Good luck!
