Can you give me heads up on a Group Exercise at an Assessment Centre?

I am applying for a job in recruitment and have to go to an Assessment Centre.
There should be some Group Exercise and Role Plays...
Anybody has been through any of those? What can it involve?
Thanks

you need to ensure that in the group exercise that you are confident - NOT aggressive - do not talk across other people, ensure you get your point across, they will be some kind of discussion and although you are nervous - smile

The role plays, exactly the same as above, you can contact the company and ask them what the role play/group exercise may consist of - this will give you points as well.

Good Luck

Role plays will probably be you interviewing a candidate or perhaps talking to a manager about a role that they are looking to fill.

There can be loads of different kinds of group exercises, but usually its about problem solving. They are looking to see how you perform as part of a team, do you have natural leadership tendencies, are you bossy or a door mouse.

The most important thing is to be yourself. If you try to fake it, they will know and if they don't then you could end up in a company and role that doesn't suit you. Try to be as relaxed and natural as possible and try to enjoy it if you possibly can. You will go much further than way.

When I did an assessment at a hotel organised by my company, they set up a range of exercises of things that my job would involve. Things like answering e-mails, writing letters, role playing answering questions.
Being put in teams and having to resolve problems together - like say a late delivery and angry customer - what would you do.
We also had to do a presentation as part of a team.
Then they asked the usual interview questions at the end of the day like
How have you improved over the years. Tell us something that you have implemented in the office that has helped everyone.

My suggestion depending on job - mine was team orientated you had to make sure not to be - selfish give your team members a chance to answer as well. Just make sure you answer a few things yourself.
