Does anyone work at home in a small town? |
I'm a stay at home mom of a 2 year old and one on the way. I would like to try to find something at home that I could do to earn some extra money. Our town is really small...population about 2,000 and it's more of a farm town. I've looked into ebay but not to sure about doing that and I'm just trying to get ideas of something I could do here at home. Any ideas/suggestions would be great and I would love to hear from anyone who works at home and lives in a small town as well, since I would assume a person would have more ideas on jobs if they lived in a big city. Thanks! There are some great sites on the internet with lots of information about working from home and the types of jobs that are available. Check out WAHM.com and WorkPlaceLikeHome.com for starters. Do a web search for "work from home options" and do some reading! The beauty of working from home online is it doesn't matter what size town you live in - it's a HUGE internet out there! My mom runs her own daycare in this very house. It's always a mess, but most of the kids are true joys to be around. I grew up in a small town about the size of yours but now I live in a bigger city, so I understand how hard it can be to find ways to earn a living in such a small community. If you have high speed internet and a headset you can apply for telework as a customer service rep. http://www.workathomedesk.com has a good list of companies in their directory that hire teleworkers and there are also other leads for other work there too. I work from home and live in a small town, population about 6000, I also have a friend who is a leader in our business and his town has less than 1000 people in it. |
