Since what age have you wanted your career (or future career)?

i'm 24 and will be 25 in less than a week. my family thinks its a bit crazy since i was 8 that i wanted to be a cop.
what age have my fellow YA! pals wanted to do what they want for careers?

I didn't know what I really wanted to be until I was 21 and working in a print shop bindery. I started watching the typesetter at work and became fascinated. I wanted to learn typesetting so badly that I practically begged my employer at the time to let me learn while working there. They couldn't manage it, but I eventually found a vocational school that taught a course in it.
That was in 1986 and I've been working as a typesetter/graphic designer ever since, and I love my job,.

Since was was 10 I've wanted to be a writer, but I learned hard and fast that unless I get popular fast or make some awesome publisher friends I won't be making my living off that. So I shifted towards my career in counseling and psychology. I've done it most my life in a way helping friends. Seemed only right to try it professionally. Though right now I sell houses for a new home builder. It's fun, but not what I plan to do for the rest of my life by any means.
