So I am 33 and considering a career change?

I know that Its a little late in the game, However I stopped going to college out of pure laziness, and had a pretty good job.... well all good things come to an end... However I am considering going back to school with the hopes of ending up in med school, and ultimately a psychiatrist... of which my mentor is.... wondering if it would be even worth it at this age... 33... any thoughts?

Let's look at it this way. You're 33. in 10 years, you'll be 43, whether or not you go back to school.
What then? In ten years will you say you're glad you went back to school,, or " I should have gone back to school."
People who go around saying " I should have stayed in the Army., "I wish I would have stayed in school, " or' I should have etc etc etc etc." Are all over the place and living unhappy lives over what " could have been."

There's an old saying. The dog would have caught the rabbit if he would not have stopped to take a ****. Are you going to chase that rabbit or stop to take a ****?
Good luck.

I'd go for it. The more education you have the more it translates to money. Besides, at 33 you have probably a good 50+ yrs left on this planet. Why not be happy at what you want to do, not have to do?

Absolutely! You are still very young and probably more responsible than when you were at 18 so you will probably do great in school. Go for it! There are people in their late 40's and 50's that go to school and enjoy it too.

do it? i just graduated from respiratory therapy and at 23, i am the youngest in my class. several of the women are in their mid 40's. nothing wrong with that!

33 is not old. You still have 35 to 40 years of working ahead of you. Go back to school if you desire.

Go Back!
I was 38 when I decided to go back to college. Now at 56 I'm back in school again, not for a career change, but I am now studying ministry which I will do on the weekends. I have people in my class who are retired. You're never too old to learn!
GOOD LUCK!

Go for it mate - good luck

yeah bro ,youre only 33 .
you just starting your life.
Im 18.

Why not? Chase your dreams if you want to...do it for yourself. So what if you're a little older?

join the club! I changed careers at the age of 31. Went back to school completed my MBA and doubled my salary. I am so glad I did it and you will be glad too.
