I have asked for a pay hike before joining a company but my boss says he will review after 6 months? How to?

Hey I asked for a raise in pay but my boss says he will do so after 6 months? How to politely tell him without hurting him that he has to give a raise now or I will quit immediately and maintain a friendly relation with him after resigning?

Flash back is that I want to re-enter a firm and boss offered me a lesser pay than I was drawing previously. I feel ashamed to go back for lesser pay. How to tell him he has to offer a higher pay now and not at a later time as I willl have to bear the humiliation of my co-employees for joining for lesser pay than before. How to be diplomatic and explain my position to him without hurting or even without rejecting the job offer outrightly.

Just why is getting paid less than somebody else "humiliating"? That comment does not make any sense to me!

Surely it is better to be employed doing a job "YOU" like, working for somebody who values your efforts and where you get on well with work colleagues, rather than getting a few cents more to do a job you dislike and where you do not fit?

At the end of the day it is your decision and nobody else can advise you becausem we do not know what your outlooks, attributes or shortcomings if any are? Only you know that?

I would just be honest with him but that may mean that you don't get a job at all. I my opinion, your co-workers should not know how much you earn unless you tell them.
