Is this burning a bridge? |
I have been out on disability from work for 3 months, my part time job has asked me (just today) to start full time in January. I'm really worried about telling my full time job that I am leaving as if I had known sooner and told them, they could have replaced me by now. I certainly didn't intend to leave my full time position but this opportunity is really good and I don't want to not take it because I will be seen as the bad guy. How should I handle this? I should add that I had intended to go back to the full time job in January. I am just about fully healed. Just give the notice. You have been out on disability, I am sure someone is doing your job. Explain a full-time opp came your way and you weren't looking, they approached you and you cannot pass it up. Give as much notice as possible and move on Choose the job you're most comfortable at. Good luck Put in your two weeks, they can't blame you for finding a better opportunity. Your main concern is you, not them. I would try to be a good joe about it, but you might lose both ways.... If it burns, then it burns. no. as long as you give them proper notice. you've been gone 3 months and they have survived. i am sure if you give proper notice, they can't fault you. they might offer you a counter offer. good luck. Oh boy!.... take a deep breath for a minute...... you havenet been on your full time job in 3 months.... guess what?.. they wont miss you!...you havent been there. are you ready to return to either job? if so, and you take the new job, call your old boss now and tell them to start looking for someone that you have had an unreal offer that you and your family can not refuse, tell them that this just came up and you would of told them sooner if you yourself had known...good luck Not knowing all the details, you may want to give your first |
