How do I cope with my job-share? She is lazy, makes big mistakes and the boss is on her side!?

I do most of the work. The little my job-share does includes many big mistakes I end up fixing and I often have to deal with complaints. I have explained to her that her mistakes affect me and have given her advice and training, as at first I thought she didn鈥檛 understand what she was doing wrong. The situation has continued for a year and when I try to speak to her she comes up with excuses, many turn out to be lies. I have spoken to my manager who told me it was a communication issue between the two of us and he was sure she 鈥渄oesn鈥檛 mean it鈥? He told me she has complained as I send her nasty emails (I don鈥檛!). I have tried to make her feel welcome and help her, however after a year I think she should know how to do her job. She and the manager get on well and chat all day. She comes in late and leaves early. If she doesn鈥檛 know what to do she passes it to me. I enjoy my job and like the people I work with but the situation has become so stressful, so I am not sure what to do.

Try the website below or just do a Yahoo! search: lazy coworker
It happens to all of us. Yep, the boss may be fooled, but after you have your legitimate proof he can't cover for the lazy coworker either.

Your trying to swim up hill. You have two choices, keep your head low and look for another job.

Hi Aggy,
If you're planning on staying at this job and the boss is buddies with your co-worker, I would put energy in becoming that ideal employee that doesn't complain and is extra helpful. You can only appear to be an example to others and in return maybe promoted for your actions. If you haven't seen "The Secret" I strongly recommend that you watch it and apply What they advise. It absolutely works. Picture what it would be like if your associate worked just as she should so that both of you would benefit and feel that your working conditions are ideal. The mind is incapable of differentiating between real and imaginary. If you 'day dream' about how great it is, the results you have currently will transform. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask more if this didn't completely make sense to you. Good luck.

Rola
