New Job- Continuous Employment?

I was recently offered a job at a new store, opening in March. When I recieved my contract, my start date is 11th February for an induction.
As I am already employed by another company, I needed to know how long the induction was, because I didn't want to have a 2 day induction and have no job for a month afterwards.
It was unclear in the letter, so I phoned the number on the letter, and the woman basically said she had no idea.
At the top of the letter it says 'date of continuous employment with the company if different from above', and then it says 'as above.'
I am confused as to whether this means from the 11th feb I will be working for the new company, or whether I will have a 2 day induction then have to wait a month to start.
Please help!!

It seems to me that 'continuous' means that there are no lapse in contract starting on Feb 11th. With many retailers, I believe that they need to train their employees first, and if it's with a large enough firm, they usually pay while training.

You may want to call that number again and speak to someone in the dept or at least the Human Resource dept to verify exactly what the details are.
