Is being 30 means it will be more difficult to find jobs although you have an university degree?

I think age can be an asset. Employers expect that typically a 30 year old is a better decision maker than a younger worker and has had enough work experience to develop a good work ethic. I can only think of a few downsides to being 30. Jobs that require youth and beauty (nightclub dancer for example) might not consider a 30 year old. Also jobs that require high energy levels (telemarketing for example) might choose the 21 year old over the 30 year old. Also, some companies are looking for the undiscovered talent and think it will more likely be found among candidates who have just graduated at the ripe age of 21 or 22 rather than in a 30 year old. For most jobs, however, if two candidates are equally qualified, I think the advantage goes to the 30 year old over the younger applicant.

Not at all! I reeived my B.S. in Chemical Engineering when I was 30 and was offered a job weeks before I actually graduated from college. Rela life experience will do you wonders and although many companies like the chance to "mold" a young graduate, they also appreciate the insight and wisdom of us "older" folks...LOL

No not at all! This is America! In Germany you'd find yourself in a predicament maybe but not here. You're still in competition. Specially with a degree.

It's very common now-a-days for an American adult to switch their careers up to three times over the course of their life. So, it's not unreasonable to expect someone at 30 to have a new college degree and looking for a new job. It wouldn't even be uncommon for a 40 or 50 year-old to do the same. Most employers are aware of this fact and therefore don't discriminate against age.
