Stuck - been at the same job for almost 7 years want to resign what would be my next step?

Regarding my other question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=...

I do not know where to start. Do not even have a resume.
I have been working full time and studying part time for years.
Do computer work, websites, graphics amongst other things.
Does anyone have any tips?

Find another job and then resign.

I have read both your questions and let me say, first of all, that your boss sounds like a total prick!

First thing is to write a resume. It's really not all that hard and there are many sites and programs that can help. Just google Resume Help.

Then, check out some websites that specialize in job placement (like http://www.monster.com/) and start the search. Depending on the hours you work, you may have difficulty interviewing for another job, so you may have to find someone that will work with you on scheduling interviews, or take some time off (if possible). If you have enough savings and are willing to risk it, you could always just quit the job you have and make looking for a job your full time job, but the pay sucks, and the benefits (finding a job in this economic climate) may be slow in coming, so I'm not sure I'd risk it... Look in your local papers and online to see about job fairs in your area and, if nothing else, go to your local state employment commission office.

Your very first step is take the decision that you want to leave. Get that idea set in your mind.

then before you start writing the resume - list your skills, your education, just jot everything down and THEN go to the aforementioned sites to construct the thing

When that's done, you'll know the skill set you have and what jobs you can do.

Then get looking - and GOOD LUCK!

I used this company to get advice and have my resume written http://www.icandobetter.co.uk

before you do anything, get a resume together and then start job hunting - don't quit before you get a new job

This one is easy.
Start your own business.

Your background with websites will help you tremendously!!!!!!!!!
This guy is a personal friend who has helped me to retire way early, and I know very little about websites....however, I have learned quite a bit about advertising on the web!
Good luck!
