Job Advice? Should I stay with this job or look for something else? |
I have worked with this company for almost four years. I got this job as soon as I graduated college and their initial salary seemed to be good for me ($28000). However, after four years, I've gotten married, moved out of my parent's apartment and have got promoted, but I feel that earning $40000 is not what I should be earning. I like the people that I work with, but it's getting harder to pay bills. Should I stay with this job or look for something else? Do you like your job? If you enjoy your job, and the people, talk with your boss about a raise. If your salary is that and your husband's is equal, you should be getting by alright (depending on where you live). If you think that you'd like to change paths and try something else, search around and see if there's a similar company offering a better salary. But, again, if you like your job--stick with it. It'll pay off. Are you living beyond your means at all? I would say if you like your job and enjoy the people, talk to your boss about a raise, even it means taking on more responsibility. Or you can post your resume on Monster or other sites like that and shoot for something that may pay better. I don't know what you do, so I can't really say whats good pay. |
