Any sudgestions on how to get a job? (I'm 14)? |
Ok, I'm 14, and am looking all over places for a job. I'm looking for places generally close. When it comes to jobs, I'm not really fit for physical ones, like construction (I know people my age who have jobs in it), raking leaves or shoveling snow. I'm a nerd, and look for ones like clerk or similar ones, because while I am good with computers, I'm not A+ Certified and haven't used a Mac before. So I'm looking for one that's good for a nerd, but doesn't require the nerdiest person out there. How do you recommend I search for a job, or one I should look for. Sorry about this. When I said I wasn't cut out to do physical jobs, I meant I can do them, just preferably not. I don't want to do a job walking thing, not because I'm lazy or something, I'm just a bit nervous around dogs I haven't met before. I once tried to work at a Taco Bell, but somehow my hair managed to catch on fire from a grease fire. I quickly put it out, but I'm kinda afraid to work at fast food. I have considered working at this one "Mom N' Pop" delis. I've also considered working at Borders. you will probably need to get a work permit to work legally and for a limited amount of hours weekly. Library, office-clerical, filing (way to get in the door), computer data entry-usually medical offices or hospital billing departments, college campuses, the last two usually have a posting center or board they have jobs posted on, look at the treatment centers, schools. If you live in a fairly large town, fast food chains are a great place to start. They will work with you on your work hours most of the time, so you can get time off if you need to study. Please forgive me my dear nerd....(I am a dork-somewhat, 42 yrs old,but a hot lookin dork) |
