I have my 1st interview tomorrow, and bad grades, what should I say if they bring it up?

I currently have 4 Fs I have been working on. I don't want to lie in the interview, but is there any way to make it sound more appealing if the subject comes up? Also any interview tips would be helpful :D

Whatever you do, don't lie... just tell the truth. Was there a family situation or medical issue that contributed to the bad grades? Even if no, turn it in to a positive by saying what you learned from that, e.g., taking too many credits and getting overloaded, poor study habits that you've now fixed, poor time management, etc. Good luck!

Interview for what? A job or a college?
If it's a job they most likely won't ask, but your school may not let you work if you have four f's.

lol well thatll be tough. I'm not sure waht to do about the grades. but try to look em in the eyes and sound appealing for the job. write me back and tell me how it goes. I'll proly have the same thing i got 3 ds and a A lol tell me how it goes.

Be truthfull. As you said, Your working on it. If they bring that up just tell them that you are trying your best to get your F's up to good grades.

What is the job for? My best friend fails everything and shes managed to secure a job. I doubt that they will ask you what your grades are but they might ask you how your doing at school. I suggest you say that your trying your hardest but you find it difficult at times :) No ones perfect.. as long as your trying, thats more than anyone can ask for :)

Be honest, admit that is obviously not your strong suit, BUT you are good at (a), (b), (c)...those would be skills/qualities that you know they need on that job that do YOU possess. You haven't said what kind of job it is, but there are some things that all employers are looking for: honesty and integrity (DON'T try to lie or make excuses about your bad grades...noone is good at everything and you will show strength of character if you admit what is true even if it's not flattering to you), someone who gets along well with others, who's interested in learning and contributing to the employer, someone who is responsible and can be counted on to show up on time (and with few or no absences), do their best and be an asset to the company. If any of those qualities apply to you, be ready to admit to your flaws and immediately follow up with about 3 really positive things about you.

Dress neatly and conservatively (no revealing clothing, and when in doubt dress "up" rather than "down" for an interview--a little too formal is better than a little too casual). Look the interviewer in the eye, listen carefully to the questions and try to answer the actual questions that are asked, not what you THINK they're REALLY asking. When you have a chance to ask questions, try to ask at least one question (that wasn't already answered) about the job or company...NOT about pay or how many days off you get. You can ask those later if you get the job.

I seriously doubt your grade will be brought up if you are applying for an after school job. They would be more interested in your GPA from a University or a College. If they do ask, don't get nervous. Let them know you got behind and you are doing extra credit to get the grades up. (if of-course these "F"'s are from High School) If you are getting "F"'s in College I would definetly work on getting those to at least a low B before applying for a position that requires skill. Hope this helps
