Should I write a recommendation? |
I was asked to write a recommendation for a friend for a job in the school district I work in. I don't doubt she will do a good job, but what if she messes up? Would that come down on me and maybe hurt my career in the county since I "recommended" her? You can do one of two things here: Do you work for the same department? If you don't, I would write the recommendation. Highlight your friend's strengths and share any anecdotes of how she has used them to overcome problems or succeed. If you stick to the facts and your experiences you are insulated from anything that she does later. |
