If my interveiwer ask me the question "where do you want to see yourself in next 5 years?" how should I answer

If my interveiwer ask me the question "where do you want to see yourself in next 5 years?" how should I answer

In a position higher than you.

Seriously, Be practical, yet confident!

in a higher comfortable position

The correct answer is where ever you see yourself in 5 years

For something like that, just say successful and not struggling.

Don't say doing your wife, don't say doing your wife, don't say doing your wife. Doing your..son?

You should answer honestly.

"in 5 years... being able to be on that side of the table asking questions..."

answer what ever u think is right... where do u want to see yourself in the next 5 years???

Not in your bed...

With your wife/husband HAHAHA

Ask him if 5 years ago, did he see him self asking you that question.

depends on if there are advancements available in the company. you can say how that you know a retirement fund is going to be important and that since you would like to be firmly established in the company, whatever advancements available - even if they require more schooling - would be something that interests you.

Tell him you want his job.

tell him that u will be replacing him in less than 5 years... he might laugh in amusment or just laugh at u.

I would honestly say that u see yourself in his position after hard work and dedication

Married to Sarah Douglas (look it up).

Where you see yourself in five years....

I was asked this and was very honest. I gave both professional (Master's degree but still in my field) and personal (with children).

I got the job.

Should have said the CEO of your company.....They would have enjoyed that one.....

Your interviewer wants to see if you have goals and aspirations beyond what you can see in the near future. It's always good to have a 1 , 5, and 10 year career goals once you know what industry you want to work in.

It sure would help to know what you eventually want to be beyond your job and what it is that you are interviewing for.

explain your goals be honest and realistic

I want to see myself as a successful person in my career, earning a desirable income and achieving my duties, hopefully here with this wonderful company!lol

I'm an interviewer...here's what we would like to hear... I would like to see myself in a position where I can utilize my job experience for mutual growth within the company. Meaning... I would like to be in a position within the company where I can make decision based on the neccessities of the company as in a Supervising Position.

It depends on what company and position you are interviewing for.

For the most part, companies like to hire worker-bees who don't question authority and will work their fingers to the bone for as little pay as possible. Also, their ideal worker won't be upset if there are little opportunities for advancement. Companies spend lots of money on new-hire training and turnover affects their bottom line.

These questions don't mean anything. You can say something like, "In 5 years I hope to be serving an important role in your company, etc, blah blah." Or say, in 5 years I hope to be sitting on the beach sipping one of those drinks with a little umbrella in them. It doesn't matter. For the most part they want to see that you are not easily flustered and can think on your feet in a tense or uncomfortable situation. Believe me, interviewers will ask the most stupid questions and there is no right answer. Check back with us when you get "What's your favorite color?" (I'm serious) But there is a wrong way to answer it. Just be relaxed and confident and you'll be fine.

Well, sit up straight. Also, pause for a second (you don't want to seem to anxious). While in your pause, smile-like a half smile. Then say something like this: Well, (interviewer's name), how I want to see my self in 5 years is ( how you want to see yourself in 5 years). Also, if it's not business related, add your humor to your interview. Just act natural. If it's going to be on TV, you might want to rehearse what you're going to say. Well, hope this helps a tad bit!

Possible answers:

(1) "Retired. Living on a tropical beach somewhere. A drink with an umbrella in one hand and a bronze, blond, bikini-clad bimbo in the other."

- or -

(2) "I want to be working for this company and getting more and more responsibility so I can help make this company more successful."

Or some other B.S like that.

If you answer (1) you will be telling the truth and you just might get a good laugh from your interviewer thus landing the job.

If you answer (2) it might also be the truth but it is the carbon copy of everyone else's answer and sounds like brown nosing.

No one likes a brown noser.

Good luck!

Successful and rich!

Honestly this answer won't impress him if he is one of those nerdy ones!

either tell the truth, or an attractive lie. The only way you will get burned is by telling a very obvious or unattractive lie.

Not here

owner of this company.

You want to take the position you are applying for into consideration. Think of what the next advancements of that career/position would be, and answer with that. The employer wants to know that you have goals, and they want to know that your goals will include their company.
