Leave my degree?

Hi, I'm hoping for advice from people with a bit more worldly wisdom than I have. I'm studying for a degree (Maths, a top universitity in the UK) but I really hate it. I hate the theory, academia, the work feels irrelevant and I feel like I'd prefer to be working towards a job. Should I leave?

Are there good opportunities for progression without a degree, for work-based training, how far could I get in business? I had a job before, briefly, as a secretary and my employers suggested they thought I was too bright for it.

I'd appreciate some advice. I hate studying and I feel like I want to leave but I could put up with it if it would really make a difference to how much I enjoy the job I get afterwards.

Thanks in advance!

You have an excellent view of what you DO NOT like.

Perhaps you should concentrate on what you DO like.

Once you determine what you actually like, you'll be better able to determine an occupation that is in accord with your personality and interests.

There are tests like personality inventories that can help you. Your university's counseling center may be able to provide access to these tests and career guidence.

It's not good to spend your life doing something you hate.

Finish what you start! Don't quit. That degree will double your income one day.

Maybe you are just studying for a degree in the wrong field. If you enjoy math, but dont like the theory and the fact that it doesnt seem to apply to anything important, maybe you should go for an Engineering degree of some type. Engineering is basically applying math to real world situations, and there is very good jobs for engineers.

don't quit it's soo hard to get degrees instead you should keep working get a degree get a better job and get a nice family

If you start you handle it and you finsish it no matter what!

according to me dont leave, sometime we need status
