6 Not to allow children to have two consecutive weeks holiday. (See Regulation 2 j)

Employers' responsibilities
It is the employer's responsibility to ensure the young person has a work permit
鈥?during the first week of employing a child you must ensure an application form is submitted to the Education Welfare Service.
鈥?the employer's name and address on the form must be the child's line manager.
鈥?a new permit must be applied for if the hours or type of work are changed.
鈥?employers must have Liability Insurance (your insurers may challenge a claim if the child does not have a valid work permit).

鈥?employees must be given training on health and safety in the workplace.
鈥?employers must make certain that any equipment your employees use is appropriate, safe and is well maintained.
鈥?if you are employing your own child you will still need to follow the procedures as you would for any other child employee.
鈥?it is illegal to employ any child full time if they are of compulsory school age, even if they have received their National Insurance Number.

Important points to keep in mind
When you are working your employer is responsible for you health, safety and welfare e.g. Making sure you are insured, supplying protective clothing where necessary.

There are alot of things that a 15 year old can do for money. For one thing if it's legal in your state, you can apply for a work permit through your school and find employment in a retail store as cashier, stock clerk, etc. You can work in office environments. You can work fast food (clerk, not cook). The guidance office can tell you what you can and can't do and what hours and shifts/days you can take. They often know who IS hiring.

Also at 15 you can get your own business going whether that's selling products or providing services. The key is to fill a need. If I could go back in time I would do web design for small businesses, sell on Ebay for self and others, install computers and/or other electronic goods. You can learn to install programmable energy efficient thermostats and make money both from the item and from the installation. Maybe you would prefer to teach things? Maybe you would prefer to write informational articles or newsletters on things you have interest in? Any of these things can help you make money and alot of your expenses are tax deductible including the permits, bookkeeping help, business travel, etc. Check out the Junior Achievements link below for more resources if your own business is appealing. Stay away from the scams... if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The old 'bob-a-job' week jobs are ideal, i.e:

Gardening work for neighbours
Walking pets
Washing cars
etc etc

Maybe your parents would pay you for doing regular errands and chores. Better than just being given money for nothing. Good on you, for wanting to earn your own money rather than expecting it to be handed out to you gratis.

depends if you want a full time job or a weekend job. try your local shops/supermarkets, then go to town and do the same. if you don't ask, you don't get. don't be shy, just go for it!

Gardening - Mowing lawns - shelf stacking in local shop ( a supermarket wont take you on as you are too young)

Even if you are male, working Saturdays in a hair/ beauty salon.
Gd money, 1 day a week and tips!!

The Odeon Cinema near me employs 15 year olds if you're near one.

stacking shelves in supermarket.

washing cars (self employed) or gardener

Waiting in a caf茅/coffee shop.

milk round or glass collector
