Would this be a good time to fill up with petrol?

Well sir Terrance, I don't know if you're in Scotland or not but my taxi driver saw fit to tell me tonight that SEVERAL local petrol stations were starting to run out.

Quite why he told me - on foot and using his taxi - about this, I'm not sure but it did alarm me sufficiently to make my wife go out and get 拢50 worth of diesel at 11.45pm tonight.

It was only when she got to the petrol station (six miles away!) that she realised we don't have a car...

Talk about your panic buying...

The fuel for England and Wales doesn't come though any of the Scottish Terminals, so we shouldn't have a problem, but as for whether this would be a good time to fill up, or not, can you actually still afford to?
I remember, it wasn't so long ago, that you'd get a free glass with every 6 Gallons of petrol, the way the prices are going up, it won't be long before they're offering a free conservatory.
(Sorry I still prefer old money...lol....6 Gallons = 27.3 Litres)

Yes - immediately go out and fill everything you can put petrol in, including the teapot and the cat.
Then you'll have the fuel shortages you were trying to avoid.

Thanks for the warning, probably good idea to keep topped up. I usually put in 拢1 at a time. May even be a good time to sell the car or go over to bio fuel (bugger the rain forests). ee what to do?
