Can non profits make alot of money? If you start the non profit can you make a good profit for yourself?

A non-profit organization/corporation cannot make a profit. You may draw a salary if you are actively involved in the efforts of the org, but one that is out-of-line with the org's purposes and income would be questioned by the IRS and state authorities and could cost you your non-profit status.

Some non-profits and charities bring in a great deal of income, but only a small percentage can go to overheads like salaries. Almost all must go toward the purposes of the non-profit or charitable cause. The non-profit must have a cause or reason for being a non-profit as opposed to a profit-making organization/corporation and this must be stated in the Articles of Incorporation.

of course.. people have to eat.. buy fuel to go to work pay for the phone.. pay for heat.. everyone has to make a profit.. what they are saying is after all the above is paid.. then the rest or what is left is given away or used for what ever the business needs.. also you have insurance to pay.. doctor bills.. there is really no situation that is truly non profit.. also would you go around broke. you need change for the bus youj need money for the haircut etc... ok gilermo..
