Why is it that on ebay people charge so freakin much for shipping charges?

Very simple:

1. E-bay charges sellers a completion fee based on sell price. If they sell you an item that normally costs $50 for $20 and charge $35 shipping (actual shipping cost being $5) they'll pay completion fee for $20 sale.

2. If you're dissatisfied with your item and decide to return they may argue that they only refund the item price, but not the shipping. That's what many retailers do, refund just the item price when you return... So if you return your $50 item - you may just as well get only $20 back!

Conclusion: Try to stay away from those who undercharge for item and make it up in shipping, unless you're 100% sure that's the item you want, and you will not be sending it back.

LEM.

I for example bought an item on auction for alot cheaper then what it was worth. Usually people see it and say "Oh boy! good deal" then there are ten people driving the price up. However on rare occasions you're the only buyer. So to make sure they get at least 2 bucks the hike up the ship/hand a few bucks. Just like anyone;bankers, lawyers car, repair car dealers, etc. They just want money.

it is shipping and handling..they are making a profit that they couldn't make in the price..........
