US Cashiers Check? |
this is the situation...i'm trying to sell my pc and some1 wants me to pay through cashier's check from a different state. is there any possibilities of me getting scammed? A cashier's check can be canceled. The safest way of getting paid is to deposit the check in the bank where the paper was drawn and cash it. The next best way is to wait 5 days after the check is deposited to see if bounces. Once it has cleared, ship the computer. A cashier's check is a bank's check drawn on itself. There is no chance of NSF. There is a tiny, tiny chance that the check could be stolen or counterfeit. Deposit the check and wait three days before sending the PC will eliminate this tiny chance. This is better than the two or three weeks you should wait for a personal check to bounce. A cashier's check is as good as cash. You can also ask for a money order which is also good as cash. |
