I have a low GPA and most companies that want interns are looking for people that have a great academic record |
is there anything i can do to still get it? if you've had an internship or you have hired interns, did they/you actually look at the academic record? i'm looking at places from tech companies to retail. You may try and stress other attributes about you that would seem to fit the job description you are perusing. For example if you have won awards for designing computer programs and have high marks in your technology classes and the low GPA is a result of poor grades in the arts then make that known. It is the (perhaps incorrect) assumption that having a high GPA means you are able to adapt to new situations well and deliver a final product upon demand.
