USPS Bulk Mail: What is the best rate to send 1000 #10 envelopes under 3 ounces? |
I know where the USPS website is and I plan to go to the class and get the permit, but I couldn't find exact pricing... You state that you are going to the class and get a permit. Let me give you some options. The best way is to bar code you mail. Since I don't know what city you are mailing out of or where you are mailing to it may be hard to give you an exact rate. Your rates will vary depending on which zip codes you are mailing to. The non barcoded rate for your mail, and this would be for mail out of the service area of your post office of mailing, would be $.255 per piece. That would be the most you would pay. If you have 150 pieces to the same AADC the rate would be $.246. If you are mailing to the same SCF (basically local mail) that is served by the entry office then your rate would drop to $.204. So if your mail is not bar coded then $.255 would be the most you would pay and $.204 would be the least you could pay. I always tell mailers that it depends on how often you plan to mail whether it is best to take out the permit or not. If this is a one time or even once every 3 or 4 months mailing it may not be worth the money to take out the permit. For local mail that is barcoded your rate can drop to as low as $.176. If you were wanting to saturate a particular area of town then your rate could go as low as $.135. If you don't have the capability to barcode ( and the software can be expensive) and like I said if you are not planning on mailing that much then I usually suggest a mailing service. A mailing service can bar code your mail, they can use their permit and fee so you don't have that cost. I would call some of them, listed in the yellow pages under Mailing Services, and see what they would charge you. With their bar coding capabilites and not having to pay the fees it can save you money. You would just have to weigh the cost of the permit and fee and your time to prepare it vs. their charges. Hope this helps, e-mail me if you have any more questions. |
