Online surveys can be great for some extra cash, but it isn't making a living and it isn't a job.

NEVER pay to take surveys. There are lots of legit survey companies out there and they never charge a fee. You won't get rich from it, but it can make for some good "fun money." A few I know of that are legit are:
SurveySavvy.com
Testspin.com (pays in Amazon.com gift certificates)
GlobalTestMarket
MySurvey
Lightspeed Panel
Opinion Outpost.

There are lots more, but that's all I have just from memory.

You can do an online search for "paid surveys" and see what comes up. Anything that asks for a fee is trash, ignore it!

Many people these days are making money online with paid surveys. I have found that these paid surveys are especially suitable for students. Since many students are living with a tight<!--budget the several hundred dollars that can be made monthly is a big help and the flexibility of taking paid surveys online is a big plus for students as well. To join these companies, you dont need a credit card and the best part is that you dont need to pay anything. Its FREE.

These are three of the top reasons that paid surveys are so well suited to students. Students spend a good-->part of their time online already. Paid survey sites place a premium on users between the ages of 13-25 3. Most students can benefit from the extra money earned with paid surveys

try using trademycash.com its totally free. i myself started using it about 3 months ago and i have started making some pretty good money. first month: $125
second month: $356
third month: $487

best of all its totally free. and very easy to use. you invest in other members and they do the same back. the system is amazing and i reccommend it to everyone! all my friends, teachers and family. it is really like free money. who ever thought this site is gift from god. good luck and i hope you are as successful as i have been.

Online surveys work like this. You take a survey, about half way through or at the end of the process, you find out that you didn't qualify, so you wait for another survey to come through. You start it, find out you don't qualify, so you wait for another survey.

When you aren't getting enough surveys and didn't make any money, you go sign up with another survey sitep. And the cycle just repeats. The person behind the site makes money from the advertisers who pay a fee to have their surveys taken.

I've done both, the pay ones and free ones. I guess I didn't fit into the group that they were looking for because I spent hours a day filling out forms and never got a dime. I did do traffic exchanges for about 6 months, advertising someone else's affiliate program and made $.85 for about 4 hours a day clicking 4 days a week and a dollar of someone else who bought into the affiliate program I was advertising. Considering I had to have $20.00 accrued before I could actually get a payout, I decided it was in my best interest to move on.

People claim that you can make money doing these free things, a few even claim they are making money. I only know of one guy who actually said he made $250 doing surveys, but he had to sign at over 100 sites. There are a lot of promises and guarantees thrown out there, but from my experiences, I can tell you if I am going to give my time away, I think it would be better spent volunteering at some local business where at least I would feel some sort of satisfaction at the end of the day.

I wrote a blog about advice for working from home. It's all generic and not a sales pitch. A link is in the 2nd paragraph of my profile here on answers. I would invite you to read it as it also explains how to do a search on these offerings that are being spammed.

Always do your homework before you jump blindly into something. At least one of these offerings is illegal. Remember this also, it's not like they are really doing you a favor as they either earn points or a few pennies for getting someone else to sign up from their link.
