Will US go into recession in 2008?

Will US go into recession in 2008?

I don't know, and I think no one can.

But
- Weak dollar;
- Oil price;
- Mortgage and credit tsunami;
- Worst real estate market decline since WW I.

Does that spell economic booming?

love lovely friends

Hard to tell for sure..........With the war...deficit..............oil prices.sub prime...............and tax increases to pay for the war, oil, deficit..I would be betting that way.................

no

one of the reasons we left the USA this year was to try and find a safe place to see out a recession, but it wasn't the only reason, the signs are there, but who knows for sure what'll happen

No one knows.....if we do go into recession, it won't just be the USA, it will be world-wide. Falling real estate prices will continue and oil will probably drop to $60-70 a barrel.....probably a good thing!

You have to have a recession every so often in a free economy. Save your money.....it will be a good time to buy!

The chances of Us going into recession is increasing day by day. the reasons are many including, dollar value, inflation, credit crunch, realty market, stocks and performance of various institutions. if u take the dollar, it is weakening against other currencies which means US will lose on exported contract value. simultaneously an increasing inflation will increase the cost of manufacturing products within usa. as a result of the current crash in home mortgage markets, bank like citigroup and merrilynch are incurring huge losses which they are offsetting by cutting dividends, this will erode the value to investors. further crash in stock market will erode the money supply in US. day by day, the sale of new houses in US is decreasing increasing the chances of a recession. new home sales dropped by 9% this month sending the rumours of recession. so if the problem worsens, banks willl incurr huge losses as their mortgaged assets will drop in value and they will have less money,. this will force them to raise interest rates making money more expensive for us citizens. so this will surely push us into recession.

There is a presidential election next Fall, and a Republican is in office, so, of course, all we are going to hear about is this supposed recession we are going into. It will not happen, but by November we are going to be numb from hearing about it.
