If you win a bid on ebay?

Can you some how cancel? I bid on a phone yesterday and won, but I quickly realized that it was the wrong phone and that's because the item was listed as a XV6700 (which is what I wanted) but that was a mistake on the seller's part and the phone is an XV6600. I found the XV6700 from another seller and that is the phone that I want to get. Is it possible to talk to the seller and tell him/her that I bid on the wrong phone or will I get in trouble if I don't pay it?

Write the seller (you get the E-mail address from eBay) and politely advise of the error, and that as a result you are not interested in completing the purchase. The seller will likely agree to void the transaction. You could get negative feedback from the seller, but it is unlikely. If the listing was wrong you have no legal obligation to complete the transaction.

You should e-mail the seller and explain why you don't want to complete the sale. The seller also has a responsibility to put the correct information in their description.

You can also use the help feature and get their phone number and call (assuming you can borrow a cell phone with free minutes).

If the seller did in fact misadvertise, you may be able to talk him into letting you out of the bid, but don't buy another phone (don't even bid!) until you have this one cleared up.

If you don't pay, the seller can hit you with a non-pay strike. Too many non-pay strikes get you suspended and/or kicked off of eBay.

If it was listed wrong, i'd first send an email to the seller, usually everyone i dealt with on eBay was reasonable.
Start there... let me know what happens:) probably, just can re-list, with no harm done to feedback to buyer or seller.

get in contact with the seller and most likely he would remove it. he was at fault and not you.

If the seller listed the phone wrong, you do not have to complete the purchase, but if you've just changed your mind, biding on Ebay puts you into a legally binding contract
