How do you keep from feeling horrible and sad?

When I look at my school loans, I have to fight really hard from breaking down and crying. I want to get my Bachelors next, But when I see what I owe for my 1st degree it makes me angry and a bit resentful. Do you feel this way? How do you shake it?

You are not going to make much money with just an Associates degree--and you will still owe all of those student loans.
You might as well get the Bachelors degree, get a decent paying job and have an easier time paying the loans.

By the way, we all have student loans and we have all survived. You will too.

just keep on going..its a part of life haha

I smoke mad pot.......helps me out

i'd try solving it first. :D
seriously, if there's a will, there's a way.
Dont lose hope, just work hard on solving that problem.
I dont cry, so im not so sure how you're going to hold back your tears, but your gonna do fine :)
Takecare..

I look at what I owe on my mortgage, and all of a sudden my school loans seem inconsequential

make sure u can get a job, and if u cant u should b able to run away, (run to canada) then hide and get a job there and leave ur lonely loans in america, come back pay em off and ull b happy,

i listen to happy songs and think of really happy people

I think sometimes we all get overwhelmed regarding certain things. It might help to have a counselor to talk to. I'm not saying that you need drugs or a psychiatrist or anything, but there are people out there that are strictly counselors who listen, and help us compartmentalize things. I tend to let myself get all bent out of shape over silly things. I have learned to take a deep breath and a step back and it works out!!!

degrees are a thing of the past. read the financial books by all of the billionaires and they will all tell you to find something you like to do and learn that.
buissness degrees are the biggest waste of time.
I make approx $120,000 a year and I am a high school drop out. when there is something I dont know how to do. I hire one of you college idiots and pay you a small sallary to do what I need you to do.
The man who ownes the company makes all of the money.

I too have finished school. My bachelor's degree has cost me half my mortgage! However, if you're worried about keeping up with the payments, don't fret. The loan companies will practically bend over backwards to work around whatever is best for you. I was told this during my last week of classes, just prior to graduation. I've had to defer my loans several times now...This is because I was in a serious automobile accident in 2004 where I was partially ejected from my vehicle. I've been unable to work steadily ever since.

Well. I feel sorry for that, plus totally understand...My advice would be to zero in on what you want to BE, in the first place, that needs an education that is burdening you with so much debt...? If you are still facing a Bachelor's degree, then what are you studying to be, in the first place? Can you hone in on a specific career you want? Is a piece of paper the only way to get there? Its worthwhile to ask yourself, and try to find some good career counseling ASAP!

Just try to find something that makes you feel better like for me I listen to music or watch my favorite T.v show or sometimes i talk to my friends about my problem and ask for help

I do understand how you're feeling - there were many times, as a student, when I couldn't see a way out of the mounting debt - it was terrible.

What you need to do is relax - budget as well as you can, even maybe look at advice online for financial planning - buying things at sale times/more homecooking (freezing etc.)/trying cheaper brands when shopping - basically think about the smaller things that you can do in the present - remembering to reward yourself in small inexpensive ways - maybe a nice bubble bath or a cd, when you know you've budgeted well over a few weeks - a little like a diet!

Other than budgeting effectively - you really need to put everything into concentrating on your study - worrying about the bigger picture and your finances as a whole will only result in ineffective studies.

Remember - you are studying for the future - to get a good job - and in time, you'll get a great job, at which stage you can talk to your bank about repaying your loans in manageable amounts - a bridge that you can cross at a later stage and when you're financially ready too.

I know it seems like a black hole right now - but honestly - myself and all of my friends were in the same boat - and now looking back, it was never worth the stress - try to relax and enjoy the present - as when you're working, earning and repaying - you'll miss those 'student days' :) - I promise.

Good Luck - you'll be fine, all you need to do is concentrate on getting the grades to get that dream job!

Do your best. If you end up not being able to pay it don't. You don't need credit to live. You also don't need education to live. If you're able to get it good for you but don't let it affect who you are.
