How much is the most ANYONE has ever drawn for disability?

The reason I am asking the question is that someone told my husband that their aunt draws $23,000.00 monthly since she has become disabled to work. What I am asking is no matter where you were employed or how much money you made, is it possible for ANYONE to draw that kind of money monthly?? Is that POSSIBLE?

She may be collecting on a legal settlement (Lawsuit either settles out of court or a court ordered payments). If her injuries were the result of her employer's or someone else's neglect or act.

Social Security disability would pay less than $2000 per month and workers comp insurance in most states would have been tied more to her monthly earnings plus medical care costs. Private insurances would not be set so high, the premiums would be prohibitive.

If what she says is true, my guess is that the money is from some kind of structured settlement. That is, she sues for $2.3 million and wins. The judge may agree to let the losing company to pay her 100 $23,000 monthly payments in lieu of the whole amount at one time.

If you community is like mine, it is not unlikely that some of them will lie to you even when there is nothing to gain by the lies. Lies, exaggerations and tall tails abound in today's society. And they wonder why we are such cynics.

you're asking the wrong person, hun.
Ask, Pesident Bush.

Thats not possible. The income you draw must fall below the poverty level for that state.

I don't know much about it, but I know it depends on the kind of insurance you have. Disability insurance. The old insurance which they no longer offer gives you a large amount of money (my friend's mom has it, and my dad would if he got hurt). The new disability insurance gives you less. It depends on your coverage and your claim.

my sister is deaf-her nurse gave her wrong medicine. She has to pay lots for her implant which helps her hear like a normal person. She has two-she just got a 2nd one 2 months ago- $100,000, so I guess you have to pay more for disabilities. (but she got $1,000,000 from the nurse that made her deaf in a trial 6 yrs. ago)

depends on the insurance, job, health issue, age etc

If she won it in a lawsuit with a jury award, the sky's the limit. Two local women disabled by a motorist just settled out of court with the City of Dana Point, CA for $50 million dollars (the insurance policy limit). They became severely disabled after a car struck them while they were jogging on Coast Highway. Their lawsuit claimed the city was liable because the bike lane was so wide that the driver who hit them mistook it for a driving lane.
