Yes, technically you can, according to the US Bureau of Engraving & Printing as well as the US Secret Service and US Department of Commerce. You may have a hard time getting stores to accept it because of the damage to the bill, but officially, if you still possess more than 51% of the original bill, then you are entitled to the entire $20. If you have problems getting it changed, go to a bank and they will do this for you. As long as 60% of the bill is intact, you can it to any bank and exchange it. Do you really have to ask this? You need to be able to read both serial numbers. If it has the serial numbers on it is ok to use if it only has one (most have two) take it to the back you will most likely only get 10$ though. how much is riped off if it is a lot there is no where that will except it. how did it get that way maybe if you know where it happen you can look for the other part. nowhere, whoever u give that bill 2, u will be ripping off!!! cant u just accept that u lost $20. |
