Whats your opinion on premium bonds?how much do they cost? & where can you get them?

i dont really know what they are, so just looking for any info really. Someone told me you can make money with them- but how much and how often? If you know anything about them, how much they cost etc that would be great. thank you for your answers in advance x

Its a lottery but you get your stake back. The odds of getting a prize are not great but neither is the national lottery. 拢100 minimum investment then in increments of 拢10.

I look at it this way. If you only have savings of, say 拢200. you can put this in the bank and get around 拢12 a year interest. or you could put it in bonds and get nothing or 200 chances a month to win 拢50-拢1000000. The odds are low but its a chance and you can still get your 拢200 back whenever you want.

Remember this: The National Lottery is a Tax for the mathematically challenged.

The changes of winning are not very good. There are so many people with the maximum of 拢30,000 worth, that they win the majority of prizes. The minimum amount you can buy is 拢100 and you get an application form from your local post office.

Well you have the info from others, quite simple, I've won three times in the past four months - so we have made more than we would have on savings! but that's the way it goes, may not see any more wins for a long time - but we won't get less back than we've put in, which can and does happen with other investments. I wouldn't recommend it as an only investment but it's safe.

Early years saw a return of up to10 拢50 or 拢100 prizes per year, plus 1 @ 拢500. Over the last 10 years, I have averaged only 1-2 per year......
