Who own television adverts?

Just wondering but when we see an advert (commercial message) on the television for a product. Does the company that make the product own the advert ?

I see loads of adverts on youtube and wondered whether copyright right laws were being broken

I don't go to youtube. but in answer to your question normally the company that is being advertised owns the ad. If you see a ad for' "Jones' Ford," 99 times out of a hundred Jones Ford owns the ad.
