Do websites show different sell prices to different customers?

Supermarkets that capture customer information give different prices to more affluent customers? What about other sites such as amazon? How sophisticated is this marketing practice?

Sites such as Amazon has sophisticated data mining techniques that can identify the demographic characteristics of users. However, I have not heard of Amazon or other online that do this practice of showing different prices to different customers based on demographic characteristics such as earnings.

Best Buy tried this approach albeit slightly different -- buyers in their online stores were shown prices on the website. However, unknown to buyers, they are looking at a different and deceptive Best Buy website -- not the online version -- but a version where prices are much higher so customers think they are getting a better deal

The Attorney General of Connecticut went after Best Buy and sued Best Buy. Here's their press release
