Can a publication charge a nomination fee for award submissions? |
Some magazines charge a fee for nominating products for certain awards. Is this fair? What if I want to be nominated but don't want to pay the nomination fee. What presssuro can my company put on the publication to accept my nomination without us paying any nomination fee. And if we do pay fee and still don't win, is that fair? They are making money by doing this. Report them. This is a scam. http://welcome.bbb.org/ How much does the award really mean to you? If you end up being the only one there who pays the nomination fee, and you end up winning, are you really winning? This is not uncommon. However, you don't have to participate. I would question the quality of an award that a person "pays" to get, and the independence of judging criteria. |
