I am marketing my DJ Service..I have flyers and business cards..Which one you keep for future reference?

I am disputing the issue with someone..They think flyers would likely be kept longer..I think that a person would keep a business card longer..Please help.

Okay, here's my two cents.

I have invested heavily in the Rolodex Business Card filing system.

Neither Rolodex, nor any other company I am aware of has a Flyer filing system for me to invest in.

Flyers are great for advertising specific gigs. I recycle my flyers once the gig is over, or, if there is NO date on the flyer, out it goes. (my pet peeve is advertising material with no year on it, just the month and day of the show, how dumb is that?)

I keep business cards and, if it's really cool, I'll keep the postcard.

FYI - Here in Vancouver, Canada, post-cards are the way to go to advertise everything from Indie Films to Burlesque Caberets. All the "kool kid" coffee shops, alternative bars and artsy places have an areas for you to put your post card advertising your upcoming gigs. DJ's have them too. They are bigger than a business card and smaller than a flyer. A popular choice by far.
