Are TV ad rates cheaper in Jan/Feb than in March?

Are TV ad rates cheaper in Jan/Feb than in March? Also, please tell me when it is cheapest to buy ads on tv?

Generally February is one of the more expensive periods. This is because it is part of one of the 4 Sweeps periods(Feb, May, Jul, Nov). So because of this networks put on their best to get the most people to watch. Because the most people will be watching the rates goes up.

As to the cheapest, that is probably more determined on the time of day and the show you want to advertise on. A popular top 10 show in prime-time will be a lot more than a local second run movie at 2am. So you need to decide on who your market is and then look at the comparable rates.

This year, regardless of the market, if the writer;s strike continues into Feb, then it doesnt really matter if there are sweeps...

You may want to look to other ways of advertising on television. For instance its cheaper to get a commercial aired if you go through your local cable company. Some of them even have like there own in house production team. You can also advertise on the Weather Channel for cheap. I know it unds corny and not to pleasing but ever noticed those ads scrolling at the bottom of the screen? Yeah people pay for those.
