Is the re really a site called GovernmentAuctionAlert? Is it a legit site?

I recently received an im from a<governmentauctionalerttoday@believesou... They informed me that there are government auctions going on in my area,and in order for me to receive required info. by a certain amount of time,they would require me to submit my personal info,including my c.c.#. Is this a legit site and if so,should i really trust giving them my adress & credit card number?

no this is not legit

NO! Please don't send someone money or much less your credit card information like that. Instead go out to your browser search engine and type in government auctions [scam] and read all the reports from different groups...

This is just another one of those sites that try to get money out of you for what is available free online.

Also, if you're really interested in government auctions, it's very rare that you'll ever find things at the low costs that you see advertised. There are standard operating procedures that are in place which means that government auctions must try to get a fair market value for whatever items sold.

The best government auctions I have had experience with personally are the ones where you get on the bidder's list for government facilities in your local area. These are the ones where you'll find the best deals at.

For instance, being that I'm in Texas... I got on the bidder's list for Fort Hood DRMO auction. I was able to pay just a few dollars for a big crate of military publications the fort had pulled.

I was able to sell the military manuals and make a heck of a nice profit because people really go crazy for military publications no matter how old they are.
