Why it is so hard to develop new customers?


I am working in a PCB and PCBA total solution service company in Taiwan. My main work is to develop new overseas customers, but it is sooo difficult to get the response. Are there any experts here could help me and teach me something? My email: mandi@effydeal.com.tw

It is hard and it will always be hard to develop new customers in just about any field. The reason behid this is that most people are literally insulted when a stranger approaches them and tell them that the choices they have made are not right.

Sure it may be true that your products or services may be great quality and maybe even cheaper, but to convince people that the products and services they are currently using is viewed as an insult to their intelligence, and saying that they don't know what's best for them.

You need to take a psychological approach in developing new customers. You must find their trigger points or what motivates them. Appeal to their emotions, logic, and bottom line.

It's cheaper to cultivate your proven buyer's list and intice them to buy more of your products or services because they already know you, and you've built up a certain degree of trust and confidence in them.

Work on getting your current customers to buy more from you and they will in turn give you free word of mouth advertising which will bring in more new customers.

why not make a contract with a potential client that you will do the job for free or at a significant discount if you can use them for a reference.

I dont really have a clue what a 'total solution' company is but think that it could be a win win for you and the business that you help.
Once you get a first satisfied customer the rest will domino behind
Also be sure to check out the competition
what are they offereing and how do THEY charge.
They might be undercutting you
another problem might be tech support.
Are you able and willing to travel to assist.
Some potential business might want local support (so they dont have to worry about time differences and long distance fees etc)

What is PCB and PCBA when they are at home.

Success can be gained by explaining in a simple clear and clean way what you do, what you offer, what your product can do for me, how it will help bring value to my daily life..... instead of just throwing aload of technical data at everyone and expecting them to understand it.
