Do you think this Best Buy ad is misleading?

I got the Sunday paper and was looking at the Best Buy ad. My daughter wanted a certain camera for x-mas. I saw it on sale. The ad reads as follows.

$149.99 after savings
$30 instant savings
FujiFilm
Best Buy Exclusive Green Color
FinePix 7MP Green Camera with 3X Optical Zoom
Also available in pink, orange and black at BestBuy.com
(Z10-Green)8465635 Reg Price $179.99

I knew that was the camera she wanted and I jumped in the car and drove to Best Buy. I showed the ad to a sales person and asked if they had any of these in pink. She replied no we only have green, but I can order the pink one for you and you can pick it up in the store, or you can go to BestBuy.com and they will ship it to you, but you'll have to pay shipping that way. I said order it for me. It wrang up full price $179.99. I told the manager that it says also available in pink and that tells me it should be sold on sale also. He said only the green one is on sale. I think this as is misleading, do you ??

I tried explaining to the manager that the ad was confusing to consumers and they should honor the sale price, but they will not. I thought maybe I was wrong in my interpitation but it seems not!

It is definitely misleading. It's reasonable to assume (unless explicitly told otherwise) that different colors version of the same model would cost the same.

Yes, it most definitely is. Target does the same thing.

I would have to say that it depends on how the ad is laid out. If the "Also available in pink...." is in a smaller dsclosure and the "Green Camera" is in larger print like the rest of the ad, then no really.

If it's all the same, then definitely.

Whether it's misleading or not, I think it's stupid to only have on color of a camera on sale.

I think its misleading that Best Buy is called "Best Buy"... it should be called "A few Good Buys" to get you into the store to buy their instock overpriced stuff... btw whats wrong with green I once had a plant that color

Certain aspects of Best Buy are horrible. Like their prices on cables, OMG is it bad

The ad says GREEN CAMERA, so its not misleading at all. They can put on sale any item they want and its typically an over-stocked item. If the pink one is more popular and there is less stock, then they could not possibly offer it as a sale price.

On the flip side, the manager is not very good. Superior customer service means offering the customer a deal on the spot. The ad got you in the store, which is what they want, then they failed to make the sale or keep the customer happy.
