Your products are targeted to be of interest to your customer so that they are more likely to buy!!!

Building relationships with your customers helps you to sell them again and again.

To acquire a first time customer can be quite expensive, very often the first sale to a new customer doesn't bring in any profit because the cost to get him was higher than the sales amount.

Being able to then sell more to the same person dramatically improves your profitability.

BTW: It's also fun! And it can help you to get interesting relationships in your market that may lead to Joint Ventures. People who don't care to build a relationship with their market miss out on these opportunities.
