Would you expect to pay when free offers are advertised?

Why do companies give such offers only for you to pay for whats not on offer.

because it grabs your attention, but i usually just ignore it because if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

my friend just bought a flight from ryanair {spit} which was advertised at 拢4.99 (London to Dublin)
she ended up paying ryanair {spit} 拢70 for the return journey.

It's eye catching and good publicity

as nothing is free

They obviously have a reason as they say nothing is free. It may be for product awareness, mailing list work a questionnaire to be completed, referrals or recommendations. Lots of reasons

It is SMART ADVERTISING that tempts you to make a purchase and pay for the hidden costs afterwards.

Since it鈥檚 an age old selling technique, therefore, people are always inquisitive about the hidden costs, so an advertiser generally end up promoting more than generating actual sales.
