Can somebody make suggestion for DUI Commercial please...?

I own a taxicab company. I want to do a DUI commercial. I have somebody to play the part of the cab driver. I have somebody to play the part of the " intoxicated driver" I ALSO have a police department willing to use an officer and a squad car in the commercial. They have one requirement: Don't make the the department or the city look like a joke. However, this is a commercial that needs some humor in it and will be played on ESPN & Comedy Central. How do I incorporate funny & the police and still manage to keep everybody happy. If you could please come up with a funny, 30 second commercial that would NOT offend the police department, please help. The commercial shoot is coming soon and the police department backed out of the only idea I had. Thanks!

My original idea is as follows:

A man is being arrested for DUI. The police officer has the cuffs on the man and has the man up against the car. A cab driver pulls up behind the police officer/drunk. He gets out of his cab. He walks up to the men, takes the handcuffs off the drunk, hands them back to the police officer and says " He's with me officer" He then walks the man back to the cab and off they go. The voice-over says in a loud voice " Budget Taxicab...We've got your back"

The police department was fine with this, but they said the more they think about it, the more worried they get that it will paint a bad picture of their police force & city. Thanks for any input.

It's kinda tricky isn't it? Trying to make light of a serious situation --- it could really blow up in your face if not done right, but hey it can be done --- South Park and Family Guy are the best at it IMO. The other issue is nobody here wants to be the bad guy; you want your business to be the hero, the cops want to maintain a respect for doing their job and if you villianize the drunkard then you alianate your target audience.

Have a slightly knackered guy burst out of a noisy bar (bar's name is above his head...it has a funny name) . Outside the doors a cop is waiting. Drunk guy looks a little nervous, pockets his keys, and says "Is there a problem Occifer...I mean....Officer?" Cop begins to question his intentions, drunk guy continues to deny nervously (maybe each time they show drunk guy looking more sweaty than the last shot). Cop isn't convinced, "Let's go" he says as he grabs drunky by the forearm and escorts him to an open car door (tight camera shot conceals its true identity --- assumed to be the cruiser) cop performs one of those guide-his-head-into-the-car police moves. Shot from the interior of the dark back seat show a remorseful drunk with his head lowered, maybe add some over-the-top sad music, then you hear "Where to Buddy?" Drunk guy comes to immediate attention when he happily realizes that he is in a cabby, not a cruiser, (the car interior & driver are now all warmly lit revealing his true whereabouts). Now have some over-the-top celebrative music as your taxi company vehicle drives off with drunky in the back, then add your company name, phone and tagline in words and writing. Can you do that in 30 seconds? If the words are slowing down the pace (and/or the acting is terrible) you might want to do a silent film style with music to set the moods....you would have to add one of those cut sceen cue cards that reads "Where to Buddy?" when the time comes.

I'm not sure if this will offend the police department, but let the commercial start off with the drunk guy coming out of a bar because of a fight he got himself into. His wife calls him bickering to get his as* home. While he is on the phone, someone shouts the police are coming!
A cab driver says, "Hey buddy, do you need a ride?"
Then he hurries into a cab driver(its comman to have cabs near bars or clubs).
When the cops finally get there they just shrug it off while being confused.
Then cutscene to the guy in the cab, laughing his a* off saying that the cab company saved his life, but when the cab driver pulls into the man's driveway, his wife is standing in her robe with the look like she's going to beat him to death.
Then he looks at the cab driver scared while saying, "You might of saved my life, but you didn't save me from my wife."

Yeah, I think I'm weird for writing this.......
You don't have to tell me ;)

How about doing an ad which gives two scenarios, the first showing somebody out on the town having a few drinks then driving home and ending up in a cell (courtesy of your policeman). Then an alternative scenario when they use a cab and all is fine, you could maybe run them split screen to reduce the time. Then end it with a catchy strapline. Not really much comedy in it but it gets the point across.

Or maybe, have somebody getting pulled over by the cop, who approaches the vehicle and asks the driver to wind down their window, as they do they vomit all over the policeman. Cut to a shot of the policeman looking stern then a shot of the driver in a cell looking sorry for their self and rather queasy. you'd need a good strap line to conclude though.
