Cost to get advertisement on the radio?

I'm doing a project where we have to know what the general price would be to get a 15 second advertisement on the radio would be, and I've looked every where to find an estimate price and have had no luck.

The cost of radio advertisement varies greatly on the area you are planning on using it, the radio station's popularity, etc. As an example, the previous answer posting gave a price of around 600-800 dollars, whereas I live in Grand Rapids, MI which is a decent sized city (around 1 million ppl.) and for my company to run a 30 second ad on the radio cost around 4,000-5,000 dollars. Radio stations always have promo packets that they send to interested clients who wish to advertise on their station. This packet includes their prices, packages, and other info. I would call the stations in your area and ask for their packet.

Radio I've delt with won't do a 15 sec. anymore and the cost is lower the more you buy. As an example I bought 40 -30 sec. ads for $495.00 and 60-30 sec ads for $600.00 . Best bet- call a local station and ask

your question has too many variables.

First of all, stations only sell time in :10, :30 or :60, not :15.

Secondly - what is your target, market list and time of year?

It is very rare to just purchase one station in a market. To get best reach of any given market, you need a variety of stations. The amount of share you give per station depends on how they rank vs. the target, what their cost per rating point is, how long your campaign is, how many pieces of creative you will have and ultimately what your objectives are (what is the purpose of your campaign - awareness of a product or a limited time offer at a retail outlet??)

I would estimate that a major market radio campaign, to get good reach and effective frequency over a 4 week period, you should budget for a minimum of $200,000, and get the campaign bonused with tags, on-air mentions and product give-aways...generally create some excitement.

To get a ballpark consider google adwords radio ads. You don't have to place an ad but it will give you a rough estimate of costs in your area.
