What's the most outrageous way you've ever dealt with a telemarketer?

I once told a telemarketer that he'd have to call back later and talk to the home's owner, explaining that I was just there to rob the place.

I have a pitch about some (fictious) puppies I need to sell, I never let them get a WORD in, eventually they hang up on ME! It's fun and gives them the same thing they dish out

Well I picked up the phone at a busy time for me and straight away thought "Oh No"!!! and they crapped on and asked if Mr......was home and I said No and they said are you Mrs....and I said sorry I am the housekeeper and they said when will they be home and I said they are on a six months holiday in Europe but I would be happy to take a message as I am living here whilst they are away and at that point they stopped pestering me.

Since I am on the: Do not call list, I get no calls from the Telemarketers. Wouldn't you know now we get taped messages from the politicians that are running for office. Interesting?? They leave a Tel no so that we can call them back!!!!!

I had a telemarketer call and ask for my dad. He wasn't home at the time and I told the telemarketer so. He proceeded to pepper me with questions about why he wasn't home, when he would be expected home, and what time would be a good time to call back. I kept him on the phone for about five minutes before I told him that my father had passed away two days ago. That guy was really ticked off <grin>. My mother was listening to my half of the conversation and burst out laughing when I told her all the details. First time she smiled in two days, so I think it was worth it.

I just toss the phone across the room (without hanging up) and go do something else.

Lead them on letting them think they are making a sale - waste 15 minutes of their time and then let them down.
