Need some info on this company - and help on how to proceed.?

Encore Receivables Management.

They call my store every morning, like clockwork. First line #1, then line #2. I don't answer anymore.... but I used to, and every time they'd hang up on me without saying a word.

When I call them back, they are polite for the first 5 seconds. Then I say "I'd like my business to be removed from your call list" and they get yell at me and hang up!! Crazy.

What can I do to make them stop calling me? And, please provide me with any info you can find.... :)

Are you sure they're a collection agency? They never talk about that. They just pester.

You must have caller ID if they don't speak and you know it is them. I'd call and find out what the phone company will charge you to be able to block certain numbers.

From what you describe it could be that they're doing automatic calls--why no one is there and you get a hang up. They probably have your number from someone who does owe money and they can't be bothered to call Directory Assistance to find out that they're harassing someone who has nothing to do with them.

Sometimes you just have to block calls. Too bad you have to pay for that.

They are a collection company, so they might be looking for someone who works with that company, or the company might owe money.

telemarketers use autodialers to call up to 4 numbers at a time. the person working the phone talks to the first person who answers. so, if you answer and no one is there, its because they are engaged with another customer.

You calling them and they hang up is obviously weird.

There is a national no-call list either being created or available now, try and find that. Ultimately it wont matter, they will still call.

Just ignore and go about your job.
